I have attached a screen-shot from google earth showing some of the places we'd love to visit. Having never been to this region, I feel it would be presumptuous to assume that we are going to do anything in particular. Of course, I have been studying maps of the area and possible routes for a long time now, and my mind is literally soaring with ideas and hopes for the trip. I am certain that I will be humbled by the area, and for that reason propose to unveil possible plans at the moment of attempting them, and not from the comfort of my bedroom in southern Spain.
There exists a google earth KMZ file that is a veritable wealth of information. Import it into google earth and you will have a much better feel for the towns, mountains and glaciers of the area.
